We spent our last morning at Beach Republic by the pool and packing up. We had felt so at home in our little villa all week and it was just what we needed after heavy tourist-ing in the other cities. The front desk arranged our car to the Conrad and we had headed west for about thirty minutes until we reached the resort on the other end of the island.
When we stepped out of the car we were greeted with he most breathtaking views of small island off in the distant and clear blue waters. The rain clouds were rolling in but luckily they allowed us to check in early. The resort is built into a cliff on the edge of the island and golf carts drive you around on steep little roads, just dial zero and they’ll come pick you up. After a little bit of shuffling and switching villas, I am my mother’s daughter after all, we were brought to the one that was meant to be ours :)
The rain cleared just as we settled in and we were delivered our last bottle of complimentary champagne. I think for the next few years I just want to tell every hotel it’s our honeymoon to get the free champagne, they’ll never know, right? No one asked when our wedding was! (just kidding…maybe…)
We lounged by the pool and got ready for the night. I had read on Trip Advisor that the best place to watch the sunset was up at a bar near the top of the resort. We were the only ones there and it was beautiful to see the sun go down after a stormy afternoon. The waitress must be used to taking everyone’s pictures because once she offered she then instructed us to stand in four separate locations and all different poses. A woman after my own heart (not Andy’s). Since we had a late lunch we weren’t really hungry for dinner and headed back to our villa. Tomorrow we don’t fly out until 6:55 so even though we couldn’t get late check out we’ll be spending the morning by the pool and beach.
