Writing letters and sending snail mail has always been something I love to do. When a friend wrote personalized notes to each guest at her wedding and had them at their seats for dinner, it was the most thoughtful and personalized touch of any wedding I had ever attended. Following her lead (and after asking permission to use the idea) I wanted to do the same thing for our guests. We used our wedding logo by Seaside Paperie and printed folded cards on VistaPrint. The website has been my go-to for return address labels and personalized items for years. They are always running different promotions and their prices can't be beat; the cards were about $100 for 200.
I wrote the majority of the notes but Andy did chip in for some of his family and friends that I did not know as well. I wanted to make sure there was an authentic and personal connection to each note and not simply write 130 copycats letters. I tried to include an anecdote or connection in each one and since we our guest list was relatively small, we knew each guest well. If you were having a much larger wedding, this would be more difficult to do.
Our venue was amazing and set up all the cards at the guests' assigned seats. Once they entered the dining room and found their table via their escort card number, their note greeted them at their assigned seat. Aside from the Guesterly books, this was another personalized touch that our guests said they loved.
