"Alexa"...can be followed by countless inquiries. In our tiny NYC apartment we have four Echoes, a large one in the living room and a smaller dot in the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. Andy doesn't share the same love for Alexa that I do and often gets frustrated when she doesn't understand him. I, on the other hand, use her for countless ways throughout the day.
She is my alarm clock every morning, plays music while I'm in the shower, tells me the weather for the day, turns on and off the lights and sets multiple kitchen timers at once. One of my favorite features, when linked with Amazon Music, is her ability to start a playlist based on simple requests such as Christmas music (currently on repeat), specific artists, genres or times periods because sometimes you just need to hear some 90s pop music. You can also group all of your echoes so that your music can play simultaneously throughout the house.
The new generation Echo also acts as a Smart home hub which is a space and money saving new feature. We have a separate hub to run our lightbulbs but Alexa will still turn them on and off whenever you ask her to. You can also get smart plugs that don't require a hub. Most of ours echoes just sit on a surface but the bathroom was tricker with limited counter space. This handy mount allows the Echo to hang out of way and the short cord is perfect for the wet environment. Do you have one? What are your favorite requests to ask her?
