With so many out of town guests coming to NYC for our wedding, we wanted to be sure to have an extra special welcome bag ready upon their arrival. The totes on Etsy and similar sites can run upwards of $20/bag and I knew that wasn't a possibility but I was determined to use our logo. After lots of searching, I discovered Cheaptotes.com and they were incredible to work with! Each bag was less than $2.00 including the custom logo. We were able to order 75 bags for under $200!
The bags included the staples along with some custom extras:
- Hershey Kisses
- Granola Bars
- Her Favorite/His Favorite Candy in wax bags with sticker (Swedish Fish & Sour Patch Kids)
- Hangover Kit including Advil, Pepto, EmergenC
- Guesterly Books
- Custom Matches
- Wedding Events Schedule
The snacks, candy and hangover kits came to around $400 for 75 bags. At the time my bridesmaid was running a welcome bag store on Etsy and she graciously curated the notes, stickers and wrapping. She made sure every detail was perfect and it was! There are still similar services available to print out your welcome notes and custom bag tags.
The welcome bags take a great deal of planning and preparation but your guests will absolutely appreciate them. Be sure to include that is necessary for the weekend as many people will forget their invites or your wedding website info. Since we had people staying at several hotels in the city, I had to create a very detailed delivery schedule of who was arriving when and where. It's important to call the hotels ahead of time and be sure they are willing to hand out your bags at check-in. For local guests, we had the totes ready after the welcome dinner and reception.
