You're engaged! Yay! Once the initial excitement and shock has set in, it's time to start planning. This can be a daunting task and there are so many decisions to make and unlimited choices. Now is the time to make that secret wedding board public (or just share it with your besties) and start using Pinterest to your advantage.
Begin pinning anything and everything you like...flowers, dresses, venues, invitations, don't think to much about it, just go to town. The more pins, the better. As you look back through your board or boards themes will start to emerge. You may not even realize you wanted, say, corks as place card holders but then when you see them on 10 of your pins, a theme has emerged.
I shared my boards with my a few friends as well as my florist and graphic designer. My incredible florist, Emily, was able to go through and determine exactly my style without me even sharing much information. I wanted all white flowers, in tight bouquets, with black anenome accents (a theme that emerged in many pins) with hydrangeas flanking the ceremony. That's exactly what I wanted! But would I have been able to tell her that? or verbalize exactly my vision? Most likely not, which is why Pinterest is your wedding's (not so) Secret Weapon. My graphic designer and sorority sister set up a board for me to share with her for my invite inspiration. From there she was able to create our first round of invites where we began to narrow down what I loved and didn't and created our incredible logo (more on that later). Black and white with hints of gold, script and print as well as striped borders all emerged as themes.
It may be more difficult for you to see the themes that are emerging since you pinned everything yourself. Enlist your bridesmaids or besties to help with this job! It's much easier for someone else to spot the trends. Happy Pinning!
